Are you ready for Aquatics Live 2012?

It seems as if the first Aquatics Live event happened only a few days ago in London, and now just a few months ahead of us looms the 2nd event. You excited yet?

You can see what we thought of the 1st event in part one and part two. How will Aquatics Live 2012 compare? So far it’s looking very promising with many more exhibitors listed and a good few awaiting to be confirmed once the summer holidays end. For us reefkeepers, I think Simon Garratt’s Reef Building Workshop will be a highlight.

Last year saw an impressive display from TMC. I’m sure they’ll be there again.

In 2011, Aquatics Live proved its value as a live event where fish keeping enthusiasts of every persuasion could get together to indulge their interest and share their knowledge and experience.

It was so successful that in 2012 it has been moved into bigger halls and there are already more exhibitors signed up than last year.

The show comprises a great combination of seminars, feature areas and exhibition stands which all-in-all provide a full day’s entertainment. The organisers maxim is ‘Inspire, Inform and Entertain’ and they cater for enthusiasts at every level from novice to expert.

In the seminar theatres this year, Joe Yaiullo from the Long Island Aquarium, New York will be leading the marine sessions and Simon Garratt from Reef Eden International will be speaking in the mornings. Chris Lukhaup, rock ‘n’ roll legend, shrimp expert and nano tank specialist will also be holding two sessions per day.
Feature areas will include the Reef Building Workshop which is sponsored by Giesemann Aquaristik in association with Reef Eden International, and for younger visitors the Marine Wildlife Roadshow, where they can learn about the oceans through interaction with life-size inflatables which include a 9-metre Minke whale!
