Fancy a public aquarium internship?
Although keeping an aquarium is a hobby for most of us, I’m sure you’ve dreamt about making your hobby your day job. If so, you’ll be pleased to know the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo are now taking intern applications.
Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo at The Dubai Mall, is now offering much-sought after Internship programmes to students from around the world. The Internship is designed to provide students with practical working experience on all aspects of managing an aquarium. The programme can also cater to a student’s particular area of interest within the aquarium industry.
Secondary or university students from around the world can apply for this Internship. Students must be 16 years of age and above, and preference will be given to those currently studying Marine Science, Teaching or Tourism subjects.
The programmes require a high level of commitment from students who will be requested to commit a minimum of two weeks, with a total of 40 hours per week. Participation is totally voluntary.
So perhaps working a minium of 40 hours every two weeks with no pay isn’t exactly the most ideal ‘job’ – I’m sure it would be a loads of fun working inside a public aquarium which is housed within a mall – yes, the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo resides within the The Dubai Mall! But none of that would matter if this was the view from your office…

I’d jump on this in a heartbeat if I was still a student. The chance to travel to a foreign country and be involved with your hobby is a dream come true. I imagine they probably have an unlimited budget too for their aquarium seeing the extravagant decorations in their buildings.
looks like the dubai aquarium has sprung a leak. they’ll probably need all the help they can get…or, they’ll be shutting down for a while for repairs.
