Scooter blenny (Synchiropus ocellatus) caught spawning on film

It’s strange how we as aquarists find spawning behaviour of our fish so fascinating. Perhaps it’s the idea that we never expect to see fish ‘doing their thing’ within the confines of an aquarium. Seeing a pair of fish do the spawning ritual is one thing, but how often do you capture it on film to share it with the world? This clip showing a pair of Scooter Blennies (Synchiropus ocellatus) was already posted on Reefgeeks by Nano Geek.

Enjoy.

I am glad that you enjoyed my video. I have quite a few video’s of my Scooters and Mandarins spawning on my youtube account at http://www.youtube.com/user/D3monicUrges

It is cool that Nano Geek is sharing his video on the forums but not cool when blogs steal it and barely give any recognition.

Hi Bob – thanks for the comment. By posting this video and giving credit to the original source (the reef-geek.com thread where I found the video) is hardly stealing. If D3momic has an issue with me sharing this video, I will happily remove the video – but as you can see by his comment here, there doesn’t seem to be any issues.
